So! I trust you are enjoying your rower.
I find myself in the same position you were in a few months ago.
I am on the waiting list for a C2, with an expected order date of August 3rd. Meanwhile, I'm learning everything I can.

Before starting the beginner Pete Plan, learn to row, learn to row, learn to row!!! Also be able to row 5000 meters non stop without killing yourself. This'll be your starting steady state distance that will increase by 500 meters every week. However, nothing says you can't stay at a level for several weeks before moving on to the next one.
