Hi all, this week my Model D threw off one of the balancing clips resulting in a terrible noise and wobble. Read through all the great advice on this forum and enquired with Concept 2 on a price of a new flywheel to rectify the problem. Decide to try fix myself before having the expense of a new flywheel. Being lucky enough to be able to see where clip was on flywheel I managed to modify a stainless steel clip I found in my guttering after inspecting my recently installed Solar panels. Works a treat and rowers back in action :)

Congratulations - it sounds like you were both lucky to match the mass of the original and did a good job.

You can probably figure out where it was attached from the scratches/dust pattern, and re-attach it using epoxy.

Failing that, you can buy a new, balanced, flywheen from Concept2 for about $100. It isn't shown in their web store, but if you contact them they'll tell you how to purchase it.
