Very interesting stuff. I guess RP isn't the "Worlds Only Rowing Simulator" anymore.
Price is a bit steep.
Maybe we need to charge a bunch more for ErgMonitor.

Yes. For that price you can get a top notch racing shell.

I've posted the same question in the German "rudernews.de"-forum, and there's a guy who's told me that he has had a go on it.
Not all that "on-the-water-like", he sais.
I'm curious if there already exists one of those eight-thingies...
The feelings about the price are about the same as on this forum.

Hallo everybody,
I am actually considering to buy a biorower machine.
I have allready posted something in a different forum about my experience with it.
I had the chance to test row their single scull in Luzern what finally convinced me. I tried to describe my experiences at rec.sport.rowing. But they might do some more exposing next season. I would be glad to read your experiences.
Concerning the price issue:
They have just cut their prices nicely. For the machine I want to buy wich is a singel scull, I pay 2,5grand less than I would have a couple weeks ago - unfortunately not permanently.
best wishes, yours hc

Great for serious rowing squads or sporting institutes, but for a private person I think it is only bling. I can generate as much sweat on a C2 as I could on one of those. And a that price, I wouldn't want to get it dirty.

Watch out Paul. Rowperfect claim to be bringing out a new model shortly.
In the lastest issue of Rowing Magozine "Rowperfect" placed a full page glossy colour advert announcing a new model for 2007.
PBs: 2K 6:13.4, 5K 16:32, 6K 19:55, 10K 33:49, 30min 8849m, 60min 17,309m
Caution: Static C2 ergs can ruin your technique and timing for rowing in a boat.
The best thing I ever did to improve my rowing was to sell my C2 and get a Rowperfect.

True, but you'd die from boredom on a C2 long before you would on a Biorower.

I've rowed on the "New Model", the difference that I like is that it will likely be great for a CBreeze. 8)
It didn't have a Monitor of any type at the time, but they do have some new options there.
Still, what does that have to do with the "Claim" I was questioning above?

I don't know if the model you tried was their 2007 model and I haven't tried the Biorower. However from the information available Biorower would have to be the world's best boat simulator for now.
No matter what you do to an erg though, one could never replicate the feel of rowing a boat on the water. They will always be just ergs.

Hmm, well I have to admit that I don't "know" either, but it is what the guy there said, and it was different (flywheel location) than the previous model I'd used, along with a new bright blue paint job.
But hey, it looks like a countryman of yours has come up with their own
unique device, and it looks like it might even have VTOL capability. (It's wings even flap)
But how can it be so "accurate a simulation" when it is not dynamic? I know AUS is a big place, but surely you could offer your consultation to these folks and help them further the cause of indoor rowing simulation.
