Bought used rower -PM5 display only powered on while rowing

Apologies if this has been discussed already, I didn’t find it in my search. Bought a used rower that had apparently sat foot a while. Previous owner replaced the batteries but the screen still only powers on while rowing and shuts off soon after stopping. Any ideas on troubleshooting this?

How long after rowing does it switch off.

Because what you've described describes normal behaviour.

The PM5 should power up when "menu" is pressed or the handle is pulled. And power off after (I think) four minutes of inactivity. So from what you say, your PM5 is behaving as designed.

You can press the menu button 3 times to force the PM5 to stay on, or plug it into a USB power outlet using a USB-B cable. Press menu button 4 times to turn it off.

Appreciate the replies from everyone, and of course I found a related post right after I posted. The screen was shutting down immediately after the chain would stop moving. I ended up replacing the batteries 2x and now the issue seems to be fixed (guess both the previous owner and I have old batteries in our drawers.) Again, thank you for the replies!
