Seat noise issue

Post by Rob_89 » September 25th, 2024, 4:25 pm

Would anyone know why a seat is making a real Loud screeching noise when going back and forward, only when it's being used/sat on. When just moving with hands it's smooth and quiet. I have a video here but not letting me attach.

Rob,

It isn't very hard to remove the seat to more easily inspect the rollers and bearings. I'd play around with it assembled to try to figure out what's happening, and if that doesn't help diagnose the issue I'd consider ordering either some new bearings (see link below) or new rollers from C2, which will come with new bearings.

Typically the seat roller bearings last a very, very long time and I don't think I've every heard of anyone having to lubricate them.

Also, confirm that the problem isn't due to the lower rollers. Their only job is to keep the seat from departing the rail, and 99.999% of the time they don't even contact the lower side of the rail. It's unlikely that they problem is there, but it's worth confirming that before you purchase anything related to the upper rollers or bearings.

If the problem turns out to be the bearings you can get them relatively inexpensively from Amazon:

Good Luck

Replace the seat roller bearings with some rubber sealed versions, they are now very cheap on AliExpress.

Thank you both.

I was also thinking bearings myself.
