More PM2 Resurrection help

Post by ILambert » October 16th, 2021, 6:23 am

My monitor worked well until recently and then the display stopped responding when I began rowing.
My PM2 Monitor display checks out perfectly with the four button followed by On/Off button.
There is no acid corrosion. The sensor ohm reading checks out correctly.
Is there a particular component that fails which can cause this and is it worth trying to replace?
Thank you for any help.

I've split your topic, please don't bump ancient threads.

Get some sharply focused, high resolution photos of both sides of the PM2 circuit board.
Post them on a photo sharing site like https://imgur.com
Post the photo URLs on here.

Post some images of the board as above.

The short answer to your question is yes.

Contact me with your e-mail address for assistance if you're not capable of removing and replacing SMD components.

I have now given up on this monitor and purchased a PM5.
If anybody wants the PM2 monitor they are welcome to it.

The OpAmp for the tach in the PM2 has lost its 1.25V or 3V feed or in very rare cases the OpAmp has failed or gone low gain.

The Voltage feeds are right under the lower right battery terminal on the two 100 Ohm resistors. Its common to have corrosion issues here.
