Replacement foot strap question

Post by Markbods » March 15th, 2024, 4:44 am

Hello,
Just purchased some replacement foot straps and installed them, noted that they come with a precut screw hole 9 inches down.

I can find anything on the website about this or if anything is meant to screw through this and if so where that screw woul go/type of screw etc.

Any advice would be appreciated as it's not like c2 not to do something for a reason.

Thanks.

I'm wondering if you've got the right strap for your model of erg Mark. There was a substantial change between the Model C and D footplates. The screw is reasonably obvious on a Model D at the base of the plastic moulding.

From memory on my Model C the straps just threaded through some slits with no securing screw - but the footplate was much flatter and metal, not a bulbus plastic moulding.

Double tuck the straps, they then never wear out or slip.

The ends that stick out towards the outside of the rower, feed it over the top and back under so the straps point towards the inside of the rower.

I always just left my shoes on the rower, just slip in and out of the shoes.

Even easier - just row strapless. 99.999999% of the time I don't bother to use them.

For anyone reading this thread in the future, the straps on the Model C _are_ attached by screws. The longer toe piece securing screws - part #1228.

I know this because I washed the straps on my well used, second hand Model C a few days ago and they’re as good as new except for slight fading where they thread through the buckles.

The new ones I bought can stay in the cupboard for a few years.
