Is it bad to get water on the chain?

Post by hach1r0k1d03 » February 12th, 2023, 11:04 pm

I think I got a little bit of water on the chain of a concept 2 model d while cleaning around the area but I ended up not thinking much about it and just let it dry. Later I just oiled up the chain. Does this sound fine? My OCD is hitting me hard and just making me think I set the chain up for future failure and it'll snap for a future buyer.

AFAIK, the chain used is a high-end bicycle chain, which see more than a few drops of water a week (at least around here).

I was hoping that's the case since, yeah, why not make the chain as good as a bicycle chain. Thanks for helping me ease my mind!
