PM5 not registering

Post by onco44 » January 11th, 2023, 10:45 pm

I have a Model C with a PM5 that worked beautifully for several years and then didn't. The PM5 turns on when I press the monitor button but does not stay on nor does is generate data while rowing. I have (1) changed the batteries, (2) taken the PM5 to another machine to be sure that it is working on--it does, (3) cleaned the flywheel, etc, (4) replaced the sensor, (5) replaced the flywheel magnets--in the same polar orientation as the originals--and the same result. C2 has been very helpful, except for the fact that the problem persists. Any wisdom out there?

Is the PM5 set-up for a Model B/C? Check the "Product ID" page.

To set it up follow: https://www.concept2.com/service/monito ... stuck-zero

Might be worth checking the condition of the cable from the PM5 to the sensor. I had one of the cores on my old model C break which caused issues (not the same for me, more sporadic). The cable looked OKish but there was a clear place where it had kinked sharply and I think the break was in there. A new cable sorted it anyway.
