No Sync button in ErgData
No Sync button in ErgData
Hi All. I've followed Concept 2's online instructions for the ErgData app as well as searching the forums and Dr Google. I can't find the 'Sync' button on the Logbook screen of the ErgData App. What am I missing? I'm logged in to the app but that doesn't make any difference. There are 6 workouts from the past two days that weren't saved to the App and I need to sync them. Appreciate all help in advance. IOS 16.0.2, ErgData v.2.0.27(2)
Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Top left on screen there's "Save and.." Touch one of the three options offered.

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Hi,
Not exactly clear what you intend to do.
You have workouts in your logbook and app is not showing them or you did workouts in the past which were not synced to your logbook?
First case: ergdata should show all your workouts when selecting logbook page in the app automatically. Even if the workouts were not transferred with ergdata, they are shown. I can see all my workouts from the very start.
Second case: like James wrote. Just select one of the options to save the row.

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Thanks guys for the help. Sorry if I wasn't clear enough. According to the following link, if workouts have been done on the erg and not saved to the App at the time of doing them, then there should be a Sync button on the Logbook tab of the app that imports the last 50 workouts not saved to the app.
https://www.concept2.com/service/softwa ... 0screen%20(the,imported%20into%20the%20ErgData%20app.
This button does not appear in the app for me.

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
When I started ergdata and selected the logbook tab these workouts (not only these but all) were synced automatically.
There were only a few when I started erging without ergdata, but I can see them in the app on my phone which I never used to row (I use another device for rowing).

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Thanks Sakly. I'm out of ideas. You can see on the attached images, the workouts after the 30th November are not synced to the App but the app doesn't want to sync them automatically and there is no 'Sync' button on the logbook page of the app as indicated in the Concept 2 Support article. I give up!
Re: No Sync button in ErgData
I see no attached pics, best to use external hoster.
So you did the workouts, they appear in your online logbook (means you had to add them manually?!), but are not synced to your app. Did I understand right?

I think he means sessions in the PM which he wants to add to ergdata.

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
That link is for the old version of ErgData. Current version does not operate that way. Workouts in the current version are automatically synced to your logbook when as James said, you select Save and select one of the 3 options offered.nomad71 wrote: ↑December 24th, 2022, 2:43 amThanks guys for the help. Re: No Sync button in ErgData
I believe it sounds like you want to sync historic rows from the PM5 monitor to ErgData.
I could be wrong but I think you have to manually enter those sessions into the C2 logbook and then they’ll sync to ErgData when connected for your next session

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Thanks Cdub. Yes, I want to sync previous workouts from the PM5 monitor to Ergdata App. The link I posted above seemed to indicate this was possible (and TBH, why shouldn't it be?) but the Sync button referred to in the online guide does not seem to exist in the app. It seems despite C2's domination of the world Rowing Erg market, their online information and support is a bit sketchy.
Re: No Sync button in ErgData
This is not possible. Workouts saved only to the monitor cannot be synced unless you had manually transferred to your logbook (I did this for my old workouts in the beginning, only a few).nomad71 wrote: ↑December 25th, 2022, 4:05 amThanks Cdub. Two possibilities I know: row with ergdata connected - synced automatically. Row with USB stick connected - transfer with c2 utility and PC to your logbook.
If ergdata was not connected during your row, you won't get detailed stroke data.

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Thanks everyone. I've wrapped my head around it now. The help article refers to sending data from the app to the cloud logbook profile. How silly of me to expect you could sync workouts from the erg to your phone after the fact (that is, you didn't have your phone around when you did the workout and just want to upload it from the Erg to the phone at a later stage)! Clearly something that could be done if the app supported it. The data is right there on the Erg and once you have a Bluetooth connection between the Erg and the phone it really shouldn't be technically challenging to send historical data from the Erg to the phone. A well designed interface would even allow you to select which workouts to upload to your phone if the Erg was a shared machine. A bit like sharing photos between your phone and your desktop computer. The technology is out there!

You are right, but it is like it is
Knowing that limitation - simply use your ergdata device each row

Re: No Sync button in ErgData
Also look at the Concept2 Utility.
One of its functions is to transfer old workouts from the PM5 to the C2 log.
It can only transfer the data in the PM5, and the PM5 does not store per stroke data, so you will not get workout graphs. You will get anything that you could manually transfer by looking at the pm5.
It requires a PC (windows or mac) and a printer cable.
