I updated my USB stick with the latest firmware version for my RowErg PM5, but I cannot install it on my PM5. When I insert the stick, its is recognized, but there is no topic in the menu that says please install. Instead PM5 shows only the informations Lifetime distance (zero probably because I updated on another USB stick), USB LogBook and Main menu. What can I do?
Edit: I attached a USB cable and everything was fine. It said I already run the latest firmware. Well, I don't understand when I updated, since all my trials with USB sticks seemed not to work.
Edit (2): Why can't I attach a picture, even if it is below 40kB? It either says: File too large, or Sorry, the Board attachment quota has been reached.

I dont know the answer to your question, but most of us avoid the issue by putting the images on a free image hosting site and share a link from there in [img] tags on here (or using the insert img button above). I use Postimage.org but many others use imgur. There are loads of others and the only one I know to avoid is Photobucket who were good years ago but then got greedy and beligerent so caused lots of issues.

Don't use a USB stick, only tried it once.
Get hold of a windows laptop, fully charged and plugged into the mains with a USB cable and run the proper update utility, works every time.
USB could work better once updated, the loader keeps changing but if you have a really old firmware version currently use a laptop.

Re: PM5 doesn't update by USB stick
I find this amusing. Also have seen other comments that "ErgRace" or "ErgRace Online" will update the firmware over bluetooth, but have never tried it.

You can always use Bluetooth ergrace to update it. I've been slowly and secretly updating the ergs at my gym that way.
How does this work??
Download ergrace. Connect to the pm5 just like you would for ergdata. Click more info or something when it tells you the firmware is out of date (i think you may have to go back to the home screen rather than the connection screen on your phone to do it). Unlike ergdata, it will give you the option to update.

Thanks a lot for your advice! I succeeded in updating PM5 through my Apple MacBook Pro via USB cable.Carl Watts wrote: ↑November 13th, 2022, 5:24 pmDon't use a USB stick, only tried it once.
