Hello,
The right foot plate, outside perimeter, just above the foot plate, has developed a SQUEAK, SQUEAK SQUEAK.

Purchased directly from C2 Fall 2020, sole user, 650k meters. Treated w/ kids gloves.
Suddenly any amount of foot pressure causes the SQUEAK. The screws seem to be the appropriate amount of tight. Any advice? I'm supposed to perform a virtual race on Saturday and I don't know if I can do it, squeaking at every stroke.
Thanks.

Some random thoughts: (links don't work for me, so some of what I say below may not be appropriate to your situation)quinnyarch wrote: ↑January 26th, 2022, 8:24 pmSuddenly any amount of foot pressure causes the SQUEAK. The screws seem to be the appropriate amount of tight. Any advice?
Can you duplicate the noise by applying force with your hand? (if "any" foot pressure will cause it, then you might be able to)
If so, then try to identify exactly where the sound is coming from. If that's successful, see if you can get a few small drops of chain lube (or just about any lube at all) in there.
If you can't identify the exact location, then you might have to take things apart as much as seems reasonable, wipe them down with a paper towel or rag, put a few drops of lube to a clean rag and apply it to all surfaces that contact each other and appear like they might move when load is applied on the drive.
Also, try to verity that it's in the footplate area, not the framelock, before taking anything apart.
Good Luck

Yeah that would drive me nuts.
Maybe it’s the fasteners that hold the footplate to the machine? I’ve swapped footplates out on machines before and could see it making noise if it wasn’t tight.
Take off the 8 screws that hold the face of the footbed on. Once you remove that front part there are some bolts inside that hold the footbed to the machine. Make sure those bolts are tight.
Concept 2 customer service is top notch so a quick phone call might help solve it.

I just had the same issue with my rower, it developed a squeak the was driving me nuts for the past week. I determined that it was coming from the seat roller at the end of the catch phase of my stroke. That sounded like it was coming from the same approximate area. I removed the seat and rollers and inspected everything, lubricated as I reassembled everything. I am hoping that takes care of the squeak, it didn't reoccur when I tested it. I will find out on tomorrows row.
