Hi,
I frequently organize racings with a PC and Ergrace Application.
I need to connect the PC and to the first PM with a USB A-B cable. I would like to know whether it is possible to replace this cable with a wireless link, replacing this cable with bluetooh or wifi dongle on both sides of the connexion such as this
https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Bluetoot ... 718&sr=8-3
On the PM side, i would add a usb A to usb B converter
https://www.amazon.com/Electop-Female-P ... 833&sr=8-1
Thanks so much

Re: racing with a PC, is it possible to replace the usb cable with wireless connexion
For a wired race the first PM is wired to the PC with a USB-A to USB-B printer cable. The rest of the PMs are wired with RS485 (using cat5 cables and RJ45 connectors and a 120ohm terminator at the end of the run (to prevent signal reflection) - it's NOT ethernet). Cable run is up to 33m between each PM and up to 100 PMs can be connected that way.
Or you can wire every PM to a USB hub but each PM can only be 5m from a hub each hub can be only 5m from the next higher hub in the tree. The first hub can only be 5m from the PC. USB has a limit of one host and 127 devices on a network like that (hubs and PMs both count as a device).
There's no provision for WiFi, Zigbee or any other wireless connections in that config.
You can run a PM control wireless race between up to 8 PMs, but that has no way to connect to a laptop.
So the answer to your question is "No, it is not possible.". The signal timing to the master PM is critical to getting the race start sync'd.

Thank you very much, i hope it would be ok in the next version.
Is the start synchronisation the only issue ? the difference would be less than 0.5 s

It's critical because it's used for the race start and detecting false starts.
Also bear in mind that the PM5 is a USB 2.0 device.
