Model A PM3

Post by faach1 » January 5th, 2021, 7:43 am

Hi,

I have acquired a C2 Model A. I would like to retrofit it with a spare PM3 monitor that I have. First of all, is this possible? Secondly, could I use the PM3 verification code on a Model A rower for use in record attempts? (Will C2 allow this?)

Yes. I recently did the retrofit of PM3 to Model A. You order the same PM5 retrofit kit for Model A sans the PM5 (cost runs to around 70 bucks + shipping & taxes). It includes a special bracket for PM3 that replaces the plastic surface on which the speedometer rests. The external dimensions of PM3 and PM5 are the same. You will have to set the PM3 to Model A using the below instructions

I think the Model A is not comparative to the other Models due to the differences in the flywheel (exposed bicycle wheel as opposed to enclosed non-bicycle flywheel). You also do not get drag factor reading for Model A.
