Thanks Eric, good post, and big of you to respond like that. I think we've all done the same at some time on forums. Good man.mict450 wrote: ↑May 23rd, 2020, 3:31 pmOh dear, looks like I've offended a few people with my remarks....let me apologize to those, especially the OP. I plead mea culpa. If there was any snarkiness in my response, it was not directed at the OP but those who price gouge. I completely assumed OP had never erged or worked out & was concerned he was paying an extortionally high price for a used erg, would use it for a couple of weeks, find he didn't like it & turn it into an expensive clothes rack. Again, my apologies.
Used model D, any advice appreciated

Agreed, it can be easily done and too many people don't have the courage to admit their mistake tooestragon wrote: ↑May 23rd, 2020, 7:14 pmThanks Eric, good post, and big of you to respond like that. You've gotten great wisdom & common sense from the other more experienced respondents. Practise a little patience. But in the end, it's you nickel & your decision. Personally, I detest people who jack up prices because of shortages!! Yes, they have that right, but if you want to enable such despicable behavior, have at it!
Nothing wrong in anything you've said. There are a lot of ergos that are used as clothes horses.mict450 wrote: ↑May 23rd, 2020, 3:31 pmOh dear, looks like I've offended a few people with my remarks....let me apologize to those, especially the OP. Anyone who's selling a used model D ergo for more than $900 is taking the p**s.
The only saving grace is that a model D that's little used will still have close to $900 of value on the second-hand market. If you buy a new one today and sell it tomorrow all you've lost is the shipping cost. Every kilometre you row on it drops the value by some fraction of a dollar.

Good luck in getting a "new one" for the regular retail price in this current state of affairsCitroen wrote: ↑May 24th, 2020, 5:59 am

Thanks for this. I think I did misinterpret your original comment as insulting (I cried myself to sleep that night lol). But after reading this I think I understand what you were saying. Thanks for the advice. I do hope to lead a healthier lifestyle (or at least counteract some of my bad habits). I enjoyed my limited experience using a rower in the gym and think it's something I could actually stick with. I'm on the wait list for a new model D and should be able to purchase one in 3-4 weeks...But by that time the bars should be opening up, so I'm just gonna play it by ear lol jk.mict450 wrote: ↑May 23rd, 2020, 3:31 pmOh dear, looks like I've offended a few people with my remarks....let me apologize to those, especially the OP. Keen eye my friend.
OP’s flipoff line worth the read. Too bad no closed caption for the tone deaf!

There's nothing like a shiny, new erg to lift one's spirit & motivation! Glad you decided to go the new route. Stay safe working the front lines. Glad I'm retired now. Formerly RN, 20 yrs, Med Tele.....before that paramedic, 18 yrs. Since you're a traveler, be sure to keep the box, so you can pack it up again. Makes for a tidier package. All the best to you.

CoVi erg supply update: Checked CONUS ebay pricing yesterday. C2DPM5 currently bid to 625USD and a couple oldy but goody Cs and Ds asking or BIN at or above new retail. Also noticed two asking in four figures.

I've seen some reasonable prices on Craigslist in the MD/DC/VA area in the past few days:
Model C (needs a monitor) for $399: https://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva ... 67538.html
Model D with PM4 for $600: https://york.craigslist.org/spo/d/york- ... 94059.html
