Model C Pm3 issue

Post by Turkishrebel » April 26th, 2020, 11:46 am

Hi everyone. Had model c for few years, but not used it for a while. When I've gone to it. The pm3 display is dead, changed batteries, still no luck.
Pulled them out for 24 hours and put new batteries back in, but vertical black lines appear briefly when battery touches contact pad.
Is the monitor dead or is there anything I can do?
I live in the UK (South Wales).
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Put your hand in your pocket, pull out £155, contact Concept2 and buy a new PM5.

Adding a datapoint: there are PM4s floating around the used market that'll save you money over a PM5. They'll add better wireless capability and be more reliable than the PM3. Search eBay - I see several for £50 right now. Ensure you're buying a rev.2 PM4, made after mid-2008. Date code check: https://www.concept2.co.uk/service/monitors/pm4

Installation of any PM is super easy - it's practically a direct plug and play swap.

Not on a Model C it isn't.
