PM5 won't update firmware
PM5 won't update firmware
I'm following all the instructions regarding how to upgrade my PM5 but it won't work. I use the C2 Utility to download the latest firmware onto my USB and then plug the USB into the back of the PM5 and power it up as per the instructions. It recognizes my USB but never shows an option to update the firmware like it is supposed to. I have checked the USB to make sure that it does have the latest firmware on it that was downloaded today. I've repeated the process on several different USB sticks and get the same results. Suggestions?

Re: PM5 won't update firmware
Yes plug the PM5 into a PC via a USB printer cable and update it like that direct from the utility.
Dont use a USB stick in these at all not even for the memory.
You want brand new batteries in the PM5 and an uninterrupted USB cable also supplying power. The last thing you want is the batteries going flat during a firmware update.

Re: PM5 won't update firmware
Which instructions? Are the ones at: https://www.concept2.com/service/monitors/pm5/firmware not clear enough.
Grab a USB-A to USB-B printer cable
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB ... B00NH11KIK
don't use a USB stick it's unreliable.
Have you tried a "hard factory reset" on your PM5?

Re: PM5 won't update firmware
The USB-A to B printer cable solved the problem. Thanks for the heads up about not using a USB thumb-stick in the PM5
