App is broken after last update

I'm on Android 9. The last two updates have not been great.

The YES/NO buttons on the "Are you finished?" pop up are now tiny.

Yesterday's update, however, crashes the app when I try to sync at the end of a workout.

Which app? Boatcoach, Ergdata or something else?

I have noticed that the "Are you finished" dialog is flickering all the time during some workouts. I am not sure yet, but perhaps it only happens when I have selected a time goal in the PM3, for example 1:00:00 hours.

I am going to do a rowing session now. Will see if it also crashes for me.

Just got another update and the sync issue appears to be fixed. Fingers crossed!

Updated Ergdata to version 1.62 and did a 55 minutes session. No crash at the end for me.

I've been having the same problems over the past week with the app disconnecting randomly when connected via USB, small yes/no buttons, etc. Today the app crashes when it tries to authenticate.

1.64 is out, and they even have a beta program now. TBH beta is a bit scary seeing how many issues ErgData has had in the past. :shock:

I bought my first C2 Model D PM5 just last Wednesday, less than a week ago. Used but essentially brand new in condition with only 4 hrs 40 min and about 40k meters. As soon as I got it home after travelling 1.5 hours south to get it, I immediately updated the firmware and also downloaded ErgData on my Samsung Galaxy S7. No matter what I did, over and over, the app would not function. It would say "connected" but would never get to the "Start Workout" prompt and it would toggle itself on and off. After many tries and again the next day, I gave up, uninstalled, and just worked with a USB thumb drive to save and upload to the C2 online logbook.

Yesterday, after watching a review on the app and it's capabilities on Dark Horse Rowing's channel, I decided to download and try again because I liked what I was seeing as far as capabilities. I just happen to notice some dialogue in the Review comments on Play Store dated 10/14/18 between users and C2 that some things had been fixed. I decided to try again and it failed once but then a second try and it WORKED!! I'm stoked! I just uploaded and got things going on my wife's S8 just now without issue so we're pretty happy about it.

Fingers crossed it stays this way!

As an aside, on Android at least, you can disable "auto-update" of apps installed from the Play Store. I often do this once I find a stable build.

I wasn't aware of v164 for Android as just as I explained above, the version I downloaded that finally started working was v162. Last night, I installed it on my wife's S8 and it worked but I didn't realize that was actually v164. So, with a bit of anxiety, I checked the Play Store and sure enough, it said I needed to update what I had just done the day before on my own S7. I held my breath and hit "update"! AND IT STILL WORKS! Dodged a bullet, there!
