Model D with PM5 Bluetooth issues
Model D with PM5 Bluetooth issues
I’m sorry if this is going to be redundant but I just got my concept2 rower and am having an issue connecting the Bluetooth from the PM5 monitor to my iPhone 7 with iOS 12. My wife has android and the Bluetooth connects but it doesn’t talk to ergdata for some reason.
Any articals you can point me to?
Bonus question
Is there anyway to log the meters you row without having to login to the online log thru concept2?
Thank you for any help and I’m glad to be part of the family its been a long time coming.

Re: Model D with PM5 Bluetooth issues
1. Upgrade your version of Ergdata
2. Upgrade the firmware on your PM5
3. Use a USB stick to record workouts
4. Switch to an Android phone rather than your overpriced, under spec'd iPhone thing.

Downloaded ErgData today. The spec on the pm5 monitor is up to date per concept2’s webpage.
Is there info somewhere about recording workouts on a usb stick?

Re: Model D with PM5 Bluetooth issues
I'm using the same combination as you, and it is working fine. The only suggestion I would make is to do a full power down and restart of the phone, and see if that helps. It probably wouldn't hurt to do the same with the PM5 (paper clip into the reset button at the back of the monitor).
Are you able to connect your phone to other Bluetooth devices (just checking that there isn't something wrong with the hardware on the phone side)?

Yes I was listening to music via Bluetooth speaker after I got frustrated with ErgData and the pm5 not connecting

Re: Model D with PM5 Bluetooth issues
If the PM5 and phone restarts don't help, then you'll have to contact Concept2 unfortunately. You might have the bad luck of faulty hardware on the PM5, which should be replaceable under warranty.

I don't either, I was just very surprised he would bring it up as an alternative. Use whatever you like! Having used both I have found that historically in the case of ErgData that the iOS support has been more stable (I usually use iOS and my daughter uses Android on the same rower). She hasn't reported any issues recently and I haven't had any either so we are both happy and I would recommend either.
