A "feature" of RowPro V5? Or is the cable defective?

Post by grahamf » May 28th, 2017, 1:40 pm

I have just upgraded to RowPro V5.
When I connect the USB cable to my PM5 I immediately get a warning that the timing cable is faulty and needs to be replaced. This is the only time that the warning appears - but it appears every time I connect the USB cable.
Is this a "feature" of RowPro V5? A feature of the USB type B cable (which is pretty old)? Or is the timing cable on my Model D (which has done only just over 1 million meters) actually faulty?

This is possibly a feature of the current firmware. The Concept2 dealer got me to test the machine without batteries. The PM5 powers up on rowing with no problem and so a defective sensor wire is unlikely, apparently.

Those lovely folks at Concept2 UK put me in touch with the equally lovely folks at D E Vermont here in Spain and my PM5 has been replaced under warranty.

All errors are now a thing of the past.

Fantastic service. Thank you all.

:) :) :)
