Garmin 310XT and PM5 connectivity

So, I really want to upload my rowing activities to Garmin Connect and I've read that some older watches allow you to connect to PM4/5. Does the 310XT connect to PM5 with latest firmware and does it provide the usual rowing details on the Garmin Connect. Is anyone using these 2 devices, do they work together?

My 310XT is attached to my boat; a USB for the PM5.

But some people on here report they're using it with PM5 no problem. I would like to know for sure though.

Since 310xt is Ant+ compatible .... you'll see here that C2 say it should be...
