Changed from PM2 to PM4 - now strokes/minute seem high?

Post by RSDA » December 31st, 2016, 4:35 pm

Hi all.

I've got a Model C. Recently upgraded from a PM2 to a PM4 and set it up correctly per C2's instructions.

The strokes/minute seem faster on the PM4 vs. the PM2. What used to be about 25 on the PM2 now seems like about 28-29 on the PM4. Has anyone else experienced this? I don't know if the issue is with the new PM4 or if the old PM2 wasn't working properly.

I've never rowed on a Model C or with a PM2 - but seems like this would be very easy to test by counting the strokes and comparing it to what the monitor is showing - if you row at that rate that the PM4 says is 28-29 how many strokes are you actually taking in a minute?

I would also check that the monitor is set up for Model B/C rather than a D/E:

Information>More Options>Product ID
