Garmin Wrist Monitors

Has anyone tried using a wrist monitor of any kind? I know there are a few Garmin models that can be used for indoor/outdoor rowing! I know they aren't as accurate as the chest straps but wonder if anyone has utilized a watch or wristband of any kind that is acceptable? They are versatile and less restricting.

I've paired both a Fenix 3 and 735XT with my PM5 and successfully recorded satisfactory HR traces that look credible and broadly inline with what I would expect from a chest strap
