whooooosh .......... whooooosh ........... whoooooosh ...... BANG BANG PING PING P P P P ING BANG PING B PB BPB BPING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that was the noise of my rower this morning
Turns out on closer inspection one of the little flywheel balancing weights has come off a blade and has been spun around the flywheel enclosure a few times ... the weight is now in 2 halves
Rower still works, but there is an annoying vibration at anything above 2:07/500m
So the big questions are ......
(1) can I purchase these weights/clips anywhere
(2) I have no idea which blade it came off of, so how does one rebalance to the best they can
(3) is there another option that doesn't cost a million pounds ?
Thanks
John

Posted this a while back, no one was interested.
Basically your stuffed when it comes off and you don't know where it went. The weights are available in at least two different "weights", they change the thickness of the metal clip.
The idea is you simply get one of those white paint marker pens and draw round the weights BEFORE they fall off. Its not just what blade they are on. its WHERE they are on the blade as well.

Re: Model D flywheel balancing weights
ah !
I am ****ed then .... I still have the weight, its just snapped in half, so quite useless .... I suppose I could weigh it so I know if its the heavy or light one ..... but will I be able to find where it came from .. correct blade AND position
hmm ... might be new flywheel time ... and from that tip I'll be marking this one so I know where to replace the weights !

Its a rare problem apparently but if the problem does happen and if it happens to you and your OUTSIDE the USA on some remote island in the Pacific its a pain in the ass.eleanorsbee wrote:ah !
