Interval training

Post by rowerblue » April 13th, 2016, 11:45 am

Hi all,
I wanted to know if there was a way to "build" a training on a computer/smartphone and transfer it to the PM4.
I have interval trainings to do and it can take quite some time to input them with Intervals:Variable.
Also, is there a way to transfer my results if I don't have a LogCard? For now I'm taking pictures of the logs, but its not really efficient...

Thanks :)

You can build a library of preset continuous and interval workouts in the RowPro software from Digital Rowing. Requires a PC and USB cable to the PM on the erg. Also requires internet connection to export results to the C2 online logbook. Could be your answer.

Or, you could purchase several logcards, say 3 to start. One card has the capability to store and retrieve 5 custom workouts. Might be a cost-effective solution to limit the tedium and time invested in resetting frequently repeated workouts. Again, upload of results to C2 requires an internet-connected PC.
There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data

Thank you for your answer.
So both RowPro and the Logcard can upload data to the PM, like custom trainings. Correct?
Do you use RowPro? If I'm understanding the connection assistant correctly, you can connect many PM4 with USB-B cables and hubs. Will you be able to upload the trainings that way to many ergs at once (I'm also a coach).
I've never used a LogCard. Is it possible to pass it around once the training has been transferred to the PM?

If you are using log-cards (on a PM3 or PM4) you can setup workouts for a crew as follows:

1. Insert a log-card in your machine.
2. Setup 1-5 workouts and save as favourite(s).

Then, for each machine your crew is using:

3. Insert the log-card.
4. Go to log-card utilities.
5. Select copy all.

Repeat steps 3. - 5. for each erg you are setting up.

When you come to row, tell your crew to select the workout from the "custom" menu.

This sounds more tedious than it is ... it's actually quite useful.

You can only store 5 workouts per logcard but, if you purchased 10 logcards, you could store 50 workouts and you would not need to pre-program (steps 1. & 2.) again.
