Post by btlnorway » March 11th, 2015, 5:21 am

Hi!!

As the weather is getting better, I plan to take my modlmodell D outside and row in the sun :-) can I store the rower outside if I put the genuine cover over it. Is it water resist?

The description on the Concept 2 website says that it is waterproof, but does not provide full weather protection to store outside. I think the cover is mainly for storing in boathouses where some stray dirt and water may drip off of some equipment, or maybe in a dusty garage.

Like you, I also enjoy rowing in the open. But don't store your erg outside - the moisture will be detrimental to the machine.

I have the cover and it is more of a dust protector than anything. Nice to have, but it doesn't seal the erg from the elements.

If you break the erg into two pieces, it isn't too difficult to store. Hopefully you can find a place to keep it indoors.

I know it's easy to take of the rail, but still it's a bit tricky to carry it up from my basement and up stairs for every workout and I sometimes hits doors, walls even if I try to be carefull.

It's wonderfull to row outdoors. Less noise from the fan, better breathing and you get sun on your body :-)

I also have a option to store it outside under roof on a smaller porch. It will be protected from rain, but not so much sun there.
