New Concept2 Model D owner. Loving it so far. I have a question about the seat. About 10-15 minutes into my workout it starts to click at what I think is called "the Catch," the point when I return to the starting position. It seems the back of the seat is rising slightly, creating the click noise. It only makes one quick click each time I return to the starting position. If I stop rowing and start up again the clicking goes away temporarily but starts up again after a few cycles.
Is this normal or am I going insane?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Seat Clicking
Check the seat screws to make sure they are tight.Yaojie wrote:New Concept2 Model D owner. Loving it so far. I have a question about the seat. Re: Seat Clicking
Also make sure the mono rail is clean.
I have to clean mine before every row with just a damp cloth. You only need a small bit of debris stuck on the roller or the rail and it is very annoying.

Re: Seat Clicking
I've an 8 yo C that started clicking near the catch once per stroke about a year ago. Thought it might be me, but still waiting for bits to fall off me or the thing. My guess is a seat bearing or foot plate, not much else there. I've tightened all the screws nuts bolts, no change. I know what a dirty rail feels and looks like and usually sweat enough to let me wipe it off.

Thanks for the replies.
Screws on the seat are tight. Rail is clean. Doesn't really effect anything it's mostly just 1 audible click at the Catch. Very odd that it doesn't start until 15-20 min into a workout.

Re: Seat Clicking
On the underside of the rail on each side, where the lower seat roller moves is a plastic strip that has worn through in several places on my Model D. When the lower roller moves over this spot it creates a clicking noise. It has worn through in several spots on mine. Not sure if this strip can be peeled off and replaced or not. It looks like the plastic layer is part of the graphics on the side of the seat rail.
