WattBike
WattBike
There appear that Watt Bike has been inspired by Concept2. Today has been seen some reviews and the WattBike site and it has some resemblance with the concept2 erg, mainly in the monitor and the resistance damper. It almost looks like a Concept2 first attempt in the indoor cycling field.

But at about $3300 for the "trainer" and $6600 for the "Pro."Atorrante wrote:There appear that Watt Bike has been inspired by Concept2. Re: WattBike
It's made by an excellent sports equipment company based in Morrisville, VT. But, I'd guess that you knew that. There were lots of them at the Concept2 UK warehouse last time I was there.Atorrante wrote:There appear that Watt Bike has been inspired by Concept2.
When TeamGB collect all those gold medals at the Velodrome at Stratford, E15 this Summer we'll be cheering their use of WattBikes in their training.

Re: WattBike
or you can plop your bike on a kurt kinetic and map the rear wheel speedo to a point on the watt curve thef publish. Not quite comparable bike to bike across the world, but good enough for seeing some improvements.
Re: WattBike
Huh... so it has an awful lot of C2 technology (or a very uncanny facsimile), is sold by C2 in the UK and other places, but sold by somebody else in the US. I wonder why they didn't just make it a C2 product... Maybe the C2 name was just too connected to rowing, and they thought a different distributor in the US would go over better? Why be so stealthy about the connections to C2?
Re: WattBike
Just want to clear up any confusion about these two products. Concept2, Inc., located in Morrisville, VT is in no way affiliated with the Wattbike product or company. While both the Concept2 Indoor Rower and the Wattbike are fine pieces of equipment that provide a very effective means of exercise with accurate and immediate feedback, the two products and their companies are completely independent from each other and have always been.

Re: WattBike
I always wondered why C2 never tried to market their own indoor trainer for cyclists. Something similar to the LeMond Revolution, but using the C2 resistance unit to connect to one's own bike.
