Will something like Garmin ANT+ stick (http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-ANT-Stick/ ... roduct_top) work? I am totally new to all this ... it just looked like a right link :)

Cheers,

This is where the PM4 needs Bluetooth or Ant wireless to the PC that you just put a wireless USB dongle into the PC.
It is not a problem. I used that combination for quite a while and never had any trouble with the cable. It was secured by velcro tape to both the rower and to the computer stand with plenty of slack to take care of the movement, but not enough to let it get too close to the floor.

Perhaps the cable might succumb eventually, but it would be cheap and easy to replace.

If one's technique is moving the erg on the floor I would think on slides there is a good chance they would be banging the slides into the end stops. I agree they would be best for a varsity rower.

As for the USB connection to a moving erg .... just tape the cable firmly to the arm or leg so you are sure plug into the PM4 is not rocking and pulling. You may need a longer USB cable.

There is Wireless USB. Its a little hard to find because search results will be 99% USB WiFi network adapters. You need to search for "Wireless Usb" in quotes and maybe add -Adapter. Here's one, not sure its a great solution as I would guess it needs a power cable:

I don't think that will work.

Remember the PM3/PM4 is a USB-B device not a host controller, it doesn't have any power on the USB interface. So how could it power up a wireless tranceiver? The device you've linked to is a USB-A device that needs to connect to a host controller.
