Retrofitting a newer handle on a Model C

Post by packrat » October 26th, 2011, 8:39 pm

I just got a GREAT deal on a used Model C. I'm used to a Model D at the gym, and really don't like the handle on the Model C. Is it easy to retrofit the other handle? What steps does it take?

It's an easy straight swap, just undo the two nylock nuts and swap it over. The new handle is better if your a bigger person with broader shoulders due to the wider grip position.

Getting the old wooden one off the "U" bolt requires you to tap the bolt to get the recessed nuts out of the wood. The new handle doesn't have the same issues but you just need to turn the nuts far enough to enguage the locking nylon and also so the flats of the nuts lineup with the flats on the plastic handle and your done.

Thanks for the advice. I'll order the handle soon and see if I can handle it. I'm sure I'll be back if I have questions. B)

Only 2 days in, and I'm loving actually owning an erg. Have 5 free minutes? Hop on. Bored? Hop on.
