Total Metres on PM3

Is there a way to see total metres rowed on the PM3 like there is on the PM2?
I bought a used D1 yesterday for a great price ($550) and in looks in great shape, just wondering how many clicks on it when I start using.

Depends on the firmware version. Older versions didn't record/display it.

Main menu --> More options --> Utilities --> Product ID

It can be reset. Some firmware updates caused it to be zeroised. It can also be zeroised by a "factory reset". So you should a) look at the serial number of the rower (underside of front end), the serial of the monitor, b) look at the chain, c) look at the shock cords and d) look at the rail and seat rollers to see if you agree with what a seller is telling you.

C2 rowers are fairly bullet proof (unless they get damp/wet).

Even If someone drops one in a salt water lake and doesn't properly clean it, it can be made whole again without too much trouble. The only really expensive part is the the monitor which you have to buy immediately. Eventually other various parts will rust and the bushings will seize, but it not too difficult to get it back to like new condition. One gets good at taking them apart and putting them together.
A situation that I would have preferred to avoid (don't know who dropped it it in) but it is a long way from fatal for the machine.

The lifetime meters on the PM3 are totally unreliable. Any firmware upgrade just zero's it and also i'm pretty sure if you put a LogCard in it it doesn't record the lifetime meters on the PM3 either, which is probably something that can be resolved if Concept 2 add it to the list of fixes for a future version of firmware.

Thanks for all the replies (from the usual suspects .
First thing I did is haul out the laptop and update the firmware from ver 82 to current. Sure enough now logging meters as if it is brand new.
Did the "three finger reset" on my old PM2 and did the same thing.
Machine looks and feels great so I am plenty happy.

That was probably a "Four finger reset" ?

To be fair to Concept 2 the Firmware for the lastest version of the PM3, Version 311 is much better and it keeps the lifetime meters without resetting them. Then again the newer PM3 is a much better monitor all round from a technical point of view.

I have only recently had the pleasure of working on a few of them and they are a joy, that ATMEL micro rocks.

That is correct.

This is really a firmware fault that needs fixing so the meters are stored on the Log Card and in the lifetime meters in the PM3 internal memory.
