Criagslist sucks

Post by Bokaj » April 3rd, 2011, 4:14 pm

After getting the last 3 rowers I made deals on get sold out from underneath me, I'm thinking more and more about just buying new. I'm debating whether to get the D with PM4 or E. I know there isn't a ton of difference but was just looking for thoughts from others.

Model D is ideal for home use comes with PM3 or PM4.

Model E is ruggedized (like a Hummer) so that it can take the beating it gets in a public gym comes with a PM4.

The Dynamic is like a model D or model E on slides, with a PM4 (like the model E) but without the massive footprint. The only disadvantage is that you use it as a static ergo so you'll get a shock at anyvenue races when it comes to rowing a static ergo.

I'm not sure whether I'd go for a model D w/PM4 (and maybe with slides) or a dynamic. I wouldn't buy a model E for home use.

Had the same thing happen to be a number of times on Craigslist and Ebay. Said to heck with and got my model D from amazon. Love it!

That didn't happen to me on Craigslist, but I have to say the sellers seemed 'demotivated.' Unlike eBay where there's an end to your listing Craigslist is like a dating site. People may or may not get back to you etc. One Craigslist guy up in Newark, NJ told me he had a 'couple' people in front of me and that if they 'fell through' he'd let me know. This was after I told him I had $100 bills and an SUV. You're giving preference to tire kickers? Buncha weirdos imho.
Oh and let's not forget all of the items that were already sold where the poster didn't remove the post or modify it to say 'SOLD.'

Same thing here, I got frustrated with the flakes on c..list.org and bought directly from C2. Model E inbound to Seattle WA.

I have had pretty good luck with CL. I am able to reply quickly after sellers post and have gotten an A for $30, a C for $300 and a Model D tonight (with a bad PM3 ) for $380. Sold the A after I got the C, and will be selling the C after I figure out what is up with the PM3. I think the problem is that these are really in demand now and selers know that they don't negotiate much on the price.

Thats a great deal frink. Even if u pay full price for a PM3 (mine was brand new on the used D I bought for $700) you still got a better price than me. Well done.
