PM 1 operation

Post by jlawson58 » February 15th, 2011, 1:53 pm

I got a PM1 yesterday with an old machine I bought and I changed the batteries and it turns on. So far so good right? Well, I read the manual and it said to push the change units button to change units. Unfortunately the manual doesn't show which button that is and the writing is worn off the two white buttons on mine so I can't tell if it is one of those. I am assuming it is the lower white one and the upper white one is the reset button. I can't get mine to show anything other than calories/hr. One of the buttons (I forget which one) seems to take me to what I think is either a peak units, or total units display. Other than that I can't get any buttons to work. Any ideas? I tried the reset procedure and that didn't work (then again, I am not completely sure which one is the reset button but assuming it is one of the two white ones it didn't work).

did you ever get an answer? I have the same problem and am thinking to pitch the PM1 and buy a used PM2.

The reset buttons are the reset which is white and top right and the up arrow which is the black one bottom 5th from the left or second from the right.

Failure to reset it means that some of the digits will be missing segments.

1. Hold down both the reset and the up arrow.
2.First release the white reset
3.Then release the black up arrow
