Hey All,
Last night as I was about 20 min into a 30 min workout, I heard what I'll describe as a bang ( maybe more of a crack). Being the dedicated erger and not wanting to quit in the middle of a workout, I noted I could still continue stroking and the only noticable difference was a shudder runs through the machine at the finish of the stroke (the idle part of the stroke). When I finished the workout I started checking out things to see if I could determine what had happened. When I removed the flywheel housing a piece fell out. Part, and I emphasize only about a 2.5 in. arc, of what I thought was hard rubber, turns out to be a part of a magnet that I for now assume to have been attached to the flywheel. Sorry for being lengthy in my discription,,,
Now, the ultimate question, will I do any further damage to the rower if I continue to workout on it ? Saw that question coming didn't ya.
Thanks
Dan

Re: Broken Magnet
No damage if you continue to row, although I doubt if your Monitor now has the right readings or even if it is picking up the tach signal at all due to the piece of magnet missing.
Would pay to remove the flywheel and take off the remaining magnet on the back of it or reglue the broken bit back on.
Not sure if you can get a new manget or it means a whole new flywheel.

Re: Broken Magnet
Thanks Carl,
Not sure if it means anything, but the monitor reading remained consistent through the rest of the workout. I will try seeing if gluing the missing piece will work.
Thanks for the reply, welcome any and all input.

Re: Broken Magnet
Hi Dan- Suggest you stop using the machine as more fragments could come unglued and possily damage the fan. Call C2 asap for a warranty replacement at 800 245 5676. It's rare for a magnet to break loose during use but we have had instances of magnets being broken in shipping. Yours may be one that took a hit or drop in transit that was enough to weaken the magnet and over time finally broke loose. How old is the machine and how much use has it had? Even more curious is that the monitor continued to function normally? That's a surprise. C2JonW
