The PM4 has three interfaces. The USB-B (like the PM3), the RS485 (so you can wire them in a daisy chain for racing) and an industry standard wireless ANT interface (that's used for Suunto and Garmin HR and for the wireless racing feature).

The thing that's needed is an ANT PC-POD so we can use that to connect the PC using the ANT wireless, the hardware is available (Suunto and Garmin use it for their ANT watches), the only piece that's missing is the PC software/PM4 firmware to drive it.

In fact, the solution was contrary to what concept 2 recommended.

After my experiences with concept 2 and concept 2 products and design philosophy over the past five years, my new rowing machine purchase will be a Rowperfect; a product they are now rushing to copy.
So what did you do to fix it?

What would you have liked C2 to do? What other problems have you had with C2 over the past five years?

If you get a row perfect let us know how you like it. I've never seen one.

Perhaps slidewinder stated best in post on handle bio-mechanics:
"People seem to be wilfully blind to the design flaws of the Concept 2 ergometer. I mentioned elsewhere how the C2 indoor rower has almost achieved the status of a holy icon - an object immune from all criticism.
If anyone complains about some aspect of the C2 rower, they are inevitably told that the fault lies with them, not the machine. Suffering from repetitive stress injury? It's because of your poor technique. Foot straps loosening? Simple, just wrap the strap end one more time under and around itself. It's rarely suggested that these complaints stem from actual design deficiencies in the machine itself, and could be corrected."

"... most owners and users of the C2 indoor rower believe that the machine has, after almost thirty years, reached a level of perfection that would be almost impossible to improve. I wanted to show those people that their cherished C2 machine certainly can be improved, and improved dramatically - that contrary to their long held belief, the full potential of the Concept 2 ergometer has never been realized."
Wow, you seem to be quite the expert on indoor rowing. Care to enlighten us on your background? As for the prototype that C2 will hopefully be releasing soon, have you actually tried it? It's considerably better than the RowPerfect, looks a lot nicer, and will fit right into the C2 community.

As for Slidewinder, he's wrong. Completely wrong. While his design is indeed nice, it does nothing to help those that use the machine. I'm sure you understand the concept of "nothing". And because honestly nothing does the job as well as the C2 ergometer in keeping rowers in shape, it is 'perfect' in that sense. When used correctly (poor technique IS the reason so many gym-gorillas will hurt themselves), it will provide it's user with exactly what is needed.

Note how Slidewinder a) has quite poor technique and has given zero effort to fixing it in order to display his product and b) offers no suggestions to the 'problems' the machine has. You too offer no suggestions. In fact, you're just whining.

Bloomp:
You are correct. I don't offer any "suggestions" to correct the deficiencies of the C2 ergometer. I actually did something about them, as shown in the following YouTube videos:
"The Canadian Slidewinder"; "Slidewinder on the Water"; "Slidewinder shows the way";
"Don't Blame Slidewinder"; "Slidewinder goes to School"
