PM2 vs. PM3

Post by wmmk » May 19th, 2010, 2:02 am

Hi everyone,

First post here. I'm considering a used Model C and a used Model D. They're both in very good physical condition, but the Model C is $150 less expensive. The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that the PM2 doesn't seem to be able to display both average split and meters left at the same time. For example, when I'm pulling a 2k test on the Model D's at school, I like to pay attention to how much I drop my average split over the course of the last 300 meters or so. From what I gather, I couldn't do so with the PM2 on the Model C. Is that correct?

Thanks,
wmmk

Both count down the meters at the top. Both display the instantaneous pace/500 in the middle. The PM3 displays everything on one screen: instantaneous pace, average pace, split time, total time, projected finish time. The PM2 has all those except the split time, but you have to change the display with the "display" button - a little inconvenient when going all out! You can do what you describe on the PM2, however, you just won't have all the other info displaying at the same time.

For $150 and the condition of each being comparable, I'd opt for the D. If the C is in better condition, a PM3 upgrade costs $160.
