Squeaking sound during drive at low rates

Post by sander » May 3rd, 2010, 3:34 am

Hi all,

Concept Indoor Rower, model C. I bought it 2nd hand from a fitness center. Not sure about the total number of strokes that has been rowed on it in its lifetime. I have done around 1000 km on it.

Now I am experiencing a squeaking sound from the seat/monorail, but only at low intensity < T25. Should I clean the monorail? How? Or is the problem more serious? Where to look? Do I need to disassemble the seat?

I have found the links to Concept2 troubleshooting, and manuals and schematics, but I'd like a hint where to look first. Your help is much appreciated.

best regards, Sander

Move the seat bolt, under the seat and railing, to the last pair of holes.

Put a few drops of mineral oil on the railing, available at most any grocery.

Move the seat back and forth. Wipe the oil off with a cloth. Repeat until clean.
