chain skipping? or sprocket worn?

it sounds or feels like spoket teeth worn down and chain skipping but only on monster pulls in mid 600's watts or higher. (doing bursts for first time) it only did it a few times and i couldnt hold that wattage

experienced similar when rear sprocket on bike worn.

if i do need to change something what part?

How many meters on the chain and cogwheel?

It might be a stiff link.

when i bought it (used) 500k i reset and put another 500k

ill check chain for stiff link

but it was more than a single skip a few inches on pull

The chain and cogwheel should last much longer than 1 million meters.

Yep done 1 million meters in the last 5 months so the sprocket should last a lot longer than than that.

Check all the chain links pivot freely after drawing out the chain and movment should not be decernable when you try and stretch or compress the links. If the chain is okay it must be the sprocket. Also had it happen with one gear on the cluster of my bike when seriously loaded up, but it had done some serious km's before the chain started to try and jump the sprocket.

Are you sure it's the chain or is the one way bearing in the flywheel no enguaging straight away and slipping ?

Has the chain been lubricated? A dried out chain is much more likely to skip and will wear out itself and the sprocket prematurely. Use the C2 mineral oil provided with the machine or a 20 weight oil (such as 3 in 1). C2JonW
