PM4 memory function loses all workouts after it times out?

Post by NELSON » January 15th, 2010, 11:55 am

Has anyone else had the issue with the PM4 memory functions losing all the previous workouts? There should be a full screen of past workouts at all time. This is not a low battery issue!
You can row a set workout, finish & go back to review the workout and it is clearly logged but if the PM4 times out and you go back to the memory function to review past workouts it will show a 0 as in no workouts available.

Thanks for any feedback.

If you want the workouts to be non-volatile then use a LogCard.

The PM3/PM4 onboard memory is limited and easily erased.

Dougie,
I actually do use a log card for my detailed workouts, but I just wanted to address this issue to see if it was happening to any other rowers with PM4s.

Thanks

Pretty sure my PM4 doesn't add workouts to memory if I have a logcard inserted. I am also pretty sure I don't have the most recent revision to the firmware.

That's always been true, even with the PM3.

Doing a firmware upgrade is trivial. Connect the PM3/PM4 to an internet connected PC/laptop and run the C2 Utility. An option to do a firmware upgrade will be offered if newer firmware is available, using the default options for the utility.

Peter,

You are right, if your log card is inserted then your workout is written to your log card but if your log card is not inserted then the workout should be written to memory. If workouts are not being written to memory, without log card insert, then you can never use the re-row function on a particular session at a later date. I think the PM4 memory function is suppose to hold 12-15 past sessions, don't hold me to that exact number.

Thanks for your reply.

RE: will only upgrade automatically if configured...

If you are using the old Concept 2 LogCard Utility you will have to start the firmware upgrade manually. If you have the new Concept 2 Utility you will be able to automatically configure the application to do this for you. The new software is available online at concept2.com
