Definition and use of "split meters".
I am new at this. What is the definition of split meters and how is that measurement used. Thanks

Re: Definition and use of "split meters".
Splits are a way to divide up a set piece. So if you row 2000m in 7 mins your avg split for 500m will be 1:45. Your actual split times for each of the four 500m may be wildly different to that.Robert_Levit@hotmail.com wrote:What is the definition of split meters and how is that measurement used.
The PM3/PM4, generally, divides the time or distance into five even splits (unless you program an alternative). So a 30min row will be logged as 5 splits of 6mins. A 5000m row will be logged as 5 splits of 1000m.
The standard 2K workout is the except to that rule.
The splits can be used to see if you're going out too hard, easing off too early, or rowing a perfect set piece or any other way your coach chooses to interpret the numbers.
