Faint PM3 display

Post by Aquanaut » November 25th, 2008, 5:10 am

Hi Everyone.

I am a newbie - bought a refurbished model C which arrived yesterday -

But

The monitor display seems very faint. The text/comes up almost grey and I wondered if this is common ? Its quite difficult to read in artificial light.

There is a 6 month warranty but I just wanted some impartial advice before I approach the retailer.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

Main menu --> More Options --> Utilites --> LCD Contrast
Change the setting on there to make the display less faint.

Take a look at http://concept2.co.uk/forum

Citroens directions are correct for a PM3 and PM4 monitor, however Model Cs came stock with the PM2 monitor, which does not have a contrast adjustment. Go to the service section of our website to identify your monitor and determine a fix. Typically, faded or incomplete digits on a PM2 indicate low batteries or a poor (dirty) connection between the LCD and circuit board. Both of these conditions are repairable. C2JonW

I'd try the batteries first.

The pm2 usually has quite an excellent display.

Based on the title of this thread I'm assuming that Aquanaut knows which monitor is mounted on his/her erg.

Oops, duh. I was looking for a monitor type reference in the text, missed it in the title. C2JonW
