To close out this saga and update the thread...

I ordered a replacement tach/generator ($28 w/ shipping) from C2, installed it, and been problem free ever since.
Rowing with a working monitor is WAY more enjoyable. lol

Thanks again fellas. I'll check for an open circuit this weekend out of curiosity, but I've already ordered a replacement generator. The fact my PM3 worked on a buddies machine makes me 99% sure that's the issue. I've been wrong before, but don't let my wife see this in writing.

Update --- The PM3 worked on my buddies Model C (after setting the PM3 for model C)
Back home, set up for model D, cleaned the flywheel & magnets, massaged the cable, and still nuthin...
Guess all that's left is replace the tach/cable?
