Happy Thanksgiving to all. My favorite holiday, too.

It's been 80 degrees here in San Diego. After taking the boys to Disneyland on Monday and Tuesday, I've spent the last two days with my in-laws in Upland, CA. Good times, and my boys and their cousins got a lot of quality time together....

Guess the newbie is being the subject of ridicule.

I'm asking because I don't know.

Based on the "helpful replies" I know to take my questions elsewhere in the future.

Thanks to the few people on this post who tried to help. To the people who mock beginners, you're o...

So to rotate the sculls:

Do you twist them with your wrist...

or

Rotate them onto the feather by opening your grip and then squaring them by closing your grip (keeping your wrists straight)?

Thanks for helping the newbie.

For you on-the-water experts (Xeno, Paul S, etc.) what is the best way to feather the sculls?

Is it better to grip the sculls firmly and rotate by dropping the wrists at the release

or

Should one keep the wrists in line with the arm and rotate the sculls by rolling t...

Brian,

My guess is that it beats the alternative. At days from turning the big 5-0 I have calluses on my right hand, but never tried gloves, never had a foot or toe problem, never had a butt issue, never had a back problem, worked out my neck/trapesius issue through physical therapy, the ...

Don't know why, but TV or music seems to make 30 minutes seem like an hour. Probably a reflection of the content.

I like to watch the meters or time countdown, focus on each stroke, and alternatively, just let my mind wander. Seems to make the time go by rapidly this way.

I was wondering about getting some opinions regarding my chance of doing "ok" in my local indoor rowing competition next January.

Me: I'll be 50 then, in the male lwt divison. Currently rowing a "blistering" 8:00 2K. I know 8:00 isn't going to cut it...I think I need to be 7:00 - 7:30 to ...

I've been facinated with rowing a 1x for two decades, but have never tried. I've been training on my Concept2 Model D for about a year and a half, and wondered if any experienced on-the-water rowers could give me some feedback as to how difficult it would be to learn to row a 1x. What is the best wa...

I bought my C2 heartrate monitor in February, and it "hadn't missed a beat."

I installed it according to the instructions that came with it.

I also rinse the electrode part of the chest belt with tap water, and leave it west, before putting it on. It's snug enough that it never...
