Good catch Tom! Wouldn't it be nice to take 3-4 months off and have your times drop drastically! :-) No, I meant my power has dropped drastically. I was barely able to complete a sub-20 5k the other day - a long shot from the 18:20 I was targeting back in December. But I'll be happy to row in your w...

What is the exact length of a mile as it would be defined on the C2 in meters? Is this 1584 meters? Dumb question, but why not try for a ranked distance?

Jeff, I just sent you my season best times (pretty sorry times they are, compared to last year), and signed up for the 1300GMT (6am my time UGH) race. Hope I'm not too late - was the 8th person to join. See you all in the morning!

Wow = nice row, guys! RowPro seemed to simply stop receiving PM2+ info for me after about 2800m - my boat stopped and the animation halted, even though the PM2+ kept counting the meters. Oddly enough, I saw the lead the two of you had on me continue to increase throughout the race, so RowPro thought...

If you dont mind a slowpoke, I might join you for a row between 1400 and 1600 GMT as well (that's 7am to 9am US pacific time, isn't it?). I'll be VERY slow - just joining for the social aspect really. I expect no more than 13k meters out of it... OK to join you?

- trying to get back in sh...

OK - I'm an idiot and haven't been able to find the "translate time zone" button in RowPro. Is 13:00 GMT equal to 06:00 US pacific time? Is that the time of this race? If so, is it possible for someone not registered in the series to join this race?

My season best (to read: ONLY) 10k for ...

Wow! Thanks guys for the posts. I missed you too. Now about rowing: I am PETRIFIED of entering a race, as my times have dropped DRASTICALLY! Having said that, I guess there's no way to improve without giving it a go. Dyson has been good enough to escort me through a couple recovery rows, so I at lea...

Hi all - what's going on? Just making my way back to the forum after a HELLISH winter and spring (2 month illness, huge work demands). Trying to back back into rowing form after an inexcusably long away period. Hope to see many of you online in a social row sometime soon. Sorry to have been AWOL for...

I'll be with you all in spirit. Alas, the one-two punch of a flu followed by bronchitis will leave me as a last-minute withdrawal this weekend. All the best to those who are racing!

FAQ

Notes from today's half marathon:

Stereo MC's "Connected" can be good and bad for rowing depending on which track you are listening to. #9 "Pressure" is perfect for mid-way through the piece - "gotta keep it up, keep up the pressure". And for close to the end, #12 "Don't Let Up" is just abou...

Sir Pirate - I agree - ouch! Sitting is NOT comfortable right now...

But what a row! You did great! I was watching your current pace and you held 1:49-1:51 straight through - amazing! Ok - got the space heater and the ice axe - I'm ready. I'd say "bring it on" but, well, let's not go there. Frosty the rowman is up for the challenge! Good luck today fellas!
