Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

My wife Jennifer did the monthly challenge today, but can't enter her time as she cannot remember her password. I tried setting her up as a new member but keep getting a message saying incorrect password. I'm told that Dougie can do a password reset. I'll try sending him a pm, but I'm also posting h...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Great idea for a CTC but unfortunately will have dozens of entries where people haven’t read the rules and won’t do the subtraction. I agree. I’ve already seen one entry where a CTC was posted on FaceBook and the meters entered on the CTC website did not include a reduction for rest meters. This wa...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

The rule is one entry per person per device (rower or skierg). If you swap teams you have to choose which one gets the workout in the month you change. I can delete your FS one if you want to use it for PP. Thanks Dougie. I appreciate the offer, but I think that using a row for Paddy Power that was...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Thanks Dougie

I presume I won't be able to submit an entry for Paddy Power this month as I have already done so for Free Spirits? I'm struggling with lower back pain at the moment, so this may be a moot point in any event.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Hi

I've just changed teams from Free Spirits to Paddy Power. What do I need to do to get my affiliation changed for the CTC? Do I need to open a new account?

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread

Very minor point, but heading for today's challenge should say 2018 Memorial Challenge, not 2017 Memorial Challenge.

Hard to believe it's been 11 years since Carole died.

Re: Cross Team Challenge - the alternative home

Hi Folks

The January CTC will be The Free Spirits 4 Cubed - 4 x 4 minutes with 4 minutes rest (per interval). First interval from a standing start. No restrictions on stroke rate.

For the avoidance of doubt, no changing the damper setting between intervals!

Re: Cross Team Challenge - the alternative home

Just a thought, but one way of setting this up so that people don't have to work out their average pace would be to allow each individual to set it up as a variable interval session, with complete discretion to how long they specify as a rest period (although there may be a 10 minute limit on what c...

Re: Practical advice for first-time CRASH-B participants

From my recent experience at BIRC, I have one additional piece of advice for those inexperienced at racing. If, for any reason, you find yourself totally unready to start when attention comes up on the monitor, pull the handle straight away so that there is a false start and you have time to get rea...

Re: nonathlon

Bob, there's nothing to stop you posting scores as a heavyweight, even if you are under 75 kg/165 lbs. I think the requirement for a lightweight row is that you must have weighed in between 2 hours and 1 hour before you row. So if you don't weigh in, you can enter all your times as a heavyweight. Pa...
