I gave it a chop again todday and got my HR up to 190 - and not any further during a 30 min work-out. Tried to calm my bumpering heart down again to 100, but had to wait and sit for that - even with the slightst movement it was not moving below 130. Is there a problem with me? Its strange - my HR goes up to over 150 very quick - can barely believe that yours does not. Is your husband using his arms while rowing and pulling the chain? Has he tried to touch his handle where its soft while rowing? What happens then? Any increase in HR?

Godd luck.
Excersise and food is the combination to look out for. Continue to row but eat onlz half of what you take in currently. Sounds hard as excersise but works wonders. Give it a try. Additionally you might want to try diurethika for good toilet action.

Good luck. Keep us posted.
