hey what do you all think of the following cycle for weightlifting: 1)do 3 sets of 20reps for 3weeks 3days/wk 2) do 3 sets of 10 for the same duration 3) do 5 sets of 3-6 (or a similar routine that emphasize max strength) 4) do 3 sets of 60reps and then repeat, so you'd go in 12week rotations. i got...

i have technique questions also: 1) you can set your ankle supports at 5 different levels. how do i know which is best for me? 2) when you finish the stroke in the picture it seems that the knee is right above the foot. but i think i try to take it beyond 90degrees so that i could get a longer reach...

Thank you for the reply. I am certain that i will never get the same times as you in either running or rowing, it's about genes too. but i think if i could get a 7:00 2k, it would still be pretty good. I dont see anybody at my school gym being able to maintain even a 2:00 split. i thought rowing was...

i think benefits for me have been somewhat limited, though i see no negatives in working out. i generally dont drink but last winter i drank and passed out, was admitted to the hospital and they determined that there was nothing wrong with me. a month before that i was drunk, made a friendly convers...

2) what spm should i use when going all out? i usually now do 26-28spm and level 5 on the erg. my split tends to vary between 2:00 and 2:15 depending on how tired i am and on whether there are any hot girls watching. if i want to sprint at the end of 10k, last 500m or so, i can do 30spm at 1:50 pace...

sorry, i meant i was looking for a correlation assuming the person trained for that sport specifically. that way you could even find a correlation between golf and rowing. Ok, so you aren't saying if I row 7' 2k then I should run XYZ mile. You are more saying that in terms of difficulty a 7' 2k is ...

hey i think i have some vapid reasons for rowing. i'd like to get leaner, my goal is to show off muscle striations on my arms and legs. that said, i am not fond of bodybuilders. so the only exercises i do are rowing, running, pullups, pushups, abs, and will be starting squats, deadlifts. that is i do ...

They look interesting and I imagine the limiting factor would be a rower's tricep strength. I'm not in good shape these days but will give them a try tomorrow so I can make a better comparison. it's a completely different exercise because you use different intensities(you dont pull your whole body ...

2k = 2k 5k = 2k split + 4-10 (depending on training and time of year) 10k = 5k split + 2-5 (depending on training and time of year) Never found any correlation between rowing and the other items you have posted. Perhaps one could say that as one's erg scores get better all other aspects will improv...

hi, i'm also a newbie and of about the same size. i do mostly 5k workouts but yesterday did a 10k. most of my workouts are 1k easy, then 1k hard and repeat. sometimes it is 500m on/off (which i find to be tougher though my average speed is actually slower). yesterday i did 10k at exactly 2:22, i thi...

hi, what are some good exercises for general fitness if you're interested in rowing, but not competitively? i injured my leg and can't run right now, so i've been rowing 4-5times/wk last 2wks, but generally i row about twice per week. I wonder what are some good non-aerobic exercises? i like to do p...

thanks but i havent tried any of them myself becaue im too lazy to go to a store and buy them(would need to go to the other side of town). i'm a firm believer that unless you're an elite athlete, supplements are much less important than exercise routine... but it would still be interesting to see if...
