Re: Which heart rate monitor
I use a Garmin Venu 2S, and it links to PM5 well, plus lots of useful other functions for weights, health tracking etc. I've also just bought a Garmin HRM Dual chest monitor to see if that gives any different results (I note my HR peaks a little, e.g. goes up by 10 counts and then comes back down ag...

Yes, definitely a Model C - I must have had it longer than I thought!

Re: Unable to set a drag factor lower than 110
Thank you to everyone for the wise counsel. I'll block off some holes in the side mesh - it doesn't seem to need much e.g. 40cm^2. I'm fortunate enough to have a 3D printer so I'll print a concept2 badge the right size to clip on to the mesh. (I couldn't see any other topics on this , but anyone els...

Re: Unable to set a drag factor lower than 110
Hi JaapvanE, Thanks for replying. I agree its usually a lower DF over time as it gets clogged up- the cage has been cleaned recently and is a free of dust as it can, and the flywheel blades given a wipe, maybe I should have left it dirty :-) No strange noises, wheel moves freely and takes a while to...

Unable to set a drag factor lower than 110
On my 15 year old concept 2 (2009), I cannot set a drag factor lower than 110 (lever is on '1' ). Any ideas what needs some maintenance TLC to get it lower? or is that it? I can see that the lever just rotates a plate over the side holes, and so I can DIY a new plate that gives mover coverage, but j...

Re: 2k Race Training
Congratulations on going to the BRIC 2024, I was there too, my first time at age 56. I had decided 12 weeks before to go, and so hadn't raced on a Concept 2 for 30+ years, nor sat on one for 10.. I opted for a 12 week plan, at the end of it I was broken, over-trained, to the extent that on the day I...

How often to test 2K pace per year?
Hi, I just finished my first ever indoor race, BRIC 2024 (aged 56), and whilst I didn't do myself justice on the day, I'm enthused to try again next year. To that end I'm starting on a training plan that covers 10~12months, rather than 8 weeks...., and starts out with several months of steady state ...

Wanted: Old/dead Polar T31 or similar chest straps
Hi, Bit of an odd request, but does anyone have an old/dead polar chest strap they could donate to an electronics project? Doesn't matter if the battery is flat or it doesn't work as the antenna in the strap is what we're after. Happy to pay postage etc Ta, Greg (Cambridge, UK) New year's resolution...
