Re: Ranger's training thread
I will return all the medals I have won rowing on the water immediately (masters natioals included) since I apparently have never rowed on the water In a 1x? Really? O.K. So, what did you pull for 1K, and what did you win? ranger Dennis, your technique is _waaay_ too awkward to get you anywhere ver...

Just watching a programme about John Lennon and it mentioned Ann Arbor, no sight of Rich there, almost 40 years ago.
Civil rights concert for John Sinclair. Famous place!

Re: Ranger's training thread
Somewhat frustrating 10K OTW in my Fluid on the big lake, after 15K OTErg. Beautiful conditions (clear, calm, warm)--but constant boat waves. This is the height of the season now in Door County and the boats OTW are multiplying. Europe Lake might be a better rowing venue now, even if the big lake i...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Rich Use your Garmin, more accurate than bike computer, BTW I would class 16 mph over 40 miles as a steady ride, probably around 100 AHR for me, here is a recent 35 miler with HR average 106, older rides have no HR http://connect.garmin.com/activity/86995082 At least I post proof Rich! Re: Ranger's training thread
Leave it open Paul, good for a laugh, doesn't do any harm and keeps him in one place without spoiling other forums.
We know he will never post any meaningful FM result etc, he has been saying the same for years now!
He is still living in a time warp when he hauled anchor, not prepared blah blah blah.

Re: Ranger's training thread
BTW, Roy won't be a WR-holder much longer. In a couple of years, Paul Siebach will blow his 55s lwt record away easily, with one hand tied behind his back. If the normal decline with age is a second over 2K per year after 20, Paul should still be able to pull 6:30 when he is 55, given that he pulle...

Another beautiful day here in Door County. http://img718.imageshack.us/img718/189/dsc02706j.jpg Nice 6K in perfect condition OTW on Europe Lake after 12K OTErg. Mostly 1:48 @ 23 spm OTErg. Was doing some 2:01 @ 25 spm, 1:59 @ 27 spm, etc., OTW. Happy with that. Over to the Islands (Washington, Rock...

Re: Ranger's training thread
Did you go faster than 7:02.3 anytime this year? Racing is redundant and irrelevant. In this sport, it's your training that counts, as I have demonstrated in the past, and will demonstrate in the future. Your racing just reflects your training. I was four seconds under the 50s lwt WR in my first ra...

A snippet from one of the UKs fast lady marathoners "Lastly, my take on the new craze of bare foot running. Africans are the best runners in the world, have grown up running barefoot but choose to wear shoes! In the Western world our feet have adapted at an early age to accommodate shoes, why sudden...

Re: to run or not to run
In all the top road races I have seen and competed in I don't see any barefoot runners in them?
I agree lots of running shoes are too spongy etc,I prefer flatter, responsive shoes, but it isn't practical for any serious runner to run barefoot.
