So, are all of you seeing the date on the PM3 as the correct date, but the workout date on the logcard as the correct day + 1? Seems to be what has happened to my PM3 since going to V90. Doesn't really matter to me, but couldn't tell if this was the same behavior ereryone one else was seeing...

My suggestion - see if you can find out who does shoulders for the Astros (Houston's baseball team). They ought to have someone local, at least for those not named Clemens or Petitte. After battling shoulder issues a few years back, I strongly suggest finding someone with a sports medicine backgroun...

And another thing I've been playing with (like others have mentioned) .... I hate to even bring it up .... is elevating either end of the erg 10 cm or so to increase the work that needs to be done against gravity. It does seem to make a difference (measured qualitatively by muscle groups and quantit...

Warnie,

You'd need to buy a PM3 to keep at home next to your computer. You can check the C2 website for pricing.

C2 folks - you might start a thread to ask around for how many of us would purchase a "simple" logcard reader/interface for use away from the erg. I'd think if one...

Both for me - after a great January of erging over 300k, took a flight from FL to Hawaii for 2 days of meetings in a windowless room, then the redeye back. Flu. Came back to rowing too soon, too hard, and on came the cold. Missed all of February (only ~50k) and am now trying to get back into some ki...

Today - 15k, first 9k at UT2, 22 SPM, 2:02.8, HR=157, last 6k UT1, 24 SPM, 1:58.1, HR=172. Keyed row to heart rate limits, paces were both about 2 sec below those for my pb 2k (7:11, level 3, interactive guide). 10 min warmdown paddle to allow time for everyone to get safely home through the stargat...

You be the scientist! Next time you erg borrow a SCUBA weightbelt from someone (or something equivalent) and make yourself 10% heavier. Do a 2K time trial. Take a rest, take off the weight, try it again? Report back to us. If it is interesting, maybe a bunch of other people will try as well.
<br...

I don't see how simply adding mass will be of any help. (Strap 10 kilos on your back next time you erg and see how it feels) Now, if that mass is in the form of muscle, and the muscle is used to provide more power, then there most likely is an impact. The key assumption made at the physics of rowing...

I went through about a month (October into November) where I simply couldn't erg continuously for longer than 20 minutes, even though I was doing up to 10k of hard interval work. Nothing helped, TV, music. Two factors, I think, got me to that point: mental boredom and being physically exhausted by t...
